13 months old

At Thirteen Months Old Abigail... 

I won't be taking monthly photos of her anymore. Our t-shirt stickers only go through 12 months. I do want to try and write  down what she is up to for our family to remember though. So, when I remember, I will try to jot it down here. 

...sleeps from 9:30pm to 8:30/9am. She has been getting to bed pretty late because of our summer schedule and the lateness of the sunset. Plus, if we can sneak a second nap in we do and that probably pushes the schedule back. But, hey, who writes the rules anyway, she's happy and healthy and [sleeps in].

...squints when she smiles. She knows she's cute and she totally uses that to her advantage wherever she is. I'll have to capture that on camera!

...eats mostly table food. She is getting her own ideas about what she wants to eat. She can munch on most things because she has 12 teeth now. Yes, she cut all four First Molars this past month! Ugh. It was trying sometimes getting her to settle down for bed or naps. She would also wake up sometimes and just need a good hug or back rub to get back to sleep. Now we know why. 

...is responding to discipline. I know, not such a "fun" topic, but I want to remember. She has started "playing us" with fake crying and whining and such so I know she's ready for some mild discipline. She will bury her face into our shoulder/neck and bite when she gets really excited. Then when you tell her "no" she tries to do it again. ugh. She also started throwing food to get attention then she'll do it again after you say "no" so I have slapped her hand a few times and then that lower lip quivers... so I know she gets it! 

...is talking. Last month her big word was "baby"... for just about anyone or any stuffed animal or doll. This month it's "toe" or "shoe" or combined to sound like "too" and she holds up her foot. If she sees a shoe and wants it on she will hold her foot up and whine "too...too" until you put it on. Today when Derek went upstairs to get her from her nap she stood up along her crib rails to say "hi" and then sat down to raise her foot and say "too" but she was so quick and excited to show Derek her foot that she fell backwards unto her mattress, it was pretty cute.

...is crawling! Yup, on all fours. Silly girl. We thought she would go from butt scooting to walking but she loves to switch between crawling and scooting everywhere now.

...is climbing up the stairs. She is fast too. We have to watch that little girl because she'll crawl right up the 7 steps to our room and then turn the corner and do the 7 more to her room. She turns around to face down when she gets up but can't get down unless I turn her and then she kind of slides down on her belly.

...wears 18 months clothes, size 4 shoes , and size 3 or 4 diapers (and cloth diapers).
