Heard over the monitor

When Abbi goes down for a nap it's always fun to listen to her settle down (as long as it's not too long). You never know what you'll hear. I thought I'd document it today for my own memory's sake. We definitely have a chatterbox.

1:05pm:
(singing) "bring back... bring back my Bonnie to me..."

(singing)"...all the children of the world.... black and white..."

"Hi, Giraffe... nigh-night, Giraffe...shhhhh"

"I tooted!"

(lots of grunting because she tries to move her pillow around her crib)

"I found you!"

"I want cheese"

(lots of girlie shrieking...)

"I fall down on the playground"

"I got my giraffe... ha ha ha"

"bye bye"

(singing) "fam-i-ly, fam-i-ly" (from the Barnie song)

"riding bike... Mommy's bike... Daddy's bike... Mommy and Daddy"

"ho ho ho"

1:32pm
(fake crying and whining = she must be getting tired now)

"Giraffe fall down"...

(oops, that's why she's crying... I have pity on her and run up there to pick up her giraffe off the floor because SHE THREW HIM OUT. I sing her one song and remind her it's nap time)

1:40pm
Zzzzzzzzzzzzz..........

Pacific Northwest - Day Eight

Derek had Good Friday off so we "Pricelined" a hotel and decided to stay a night in Chicago before heading home. We hit IKEA and the Michigan City outlets on our way back to Michigan.

Pacific Northwest - Day Seven

We managed our other four and a half flight (closer to five) from Seattle to St. Louis. Then she had to be on my lap for the hour flight to Chicago. She did great as a 22 month old could do. Do we want to do it again? not anytime soon...
Catching a bite to eat at TGI Fridays.

Pacific Northwest - Day Six

After packing up the mini van, cleaning the cottage, and eating a big breakfast out we left Cannon Beach to head back to Seattle.
We made a quick stop at Fort Clatsop on our way.

This town really stunk! It was a big logging and paper mill city. PeeYew!
We turned Abigail forward to try and get her to watch a movie or fall asleep... neither worked.

Pacific Northwest - Day Five

Abigail helped us announce our pregnancy

It was a rainy morning so we went down to Tillamook Cheese Factory for a tour.

Pacific Northwest - Day Four

We stayed at a relatives vacation home. Here is the view of the Pacific Ocean from the upper deck:

Pictures in front of Haystack Rock.

We explored the tidal pools at low tide:
Abigail thought this fisherman was Santa...

We also went to the local Ecola State Park for some nice photos. It was windy there!
In the evening we picked up some takeout and watched the NCAA Championship Game. It was nice and early since we were in the Pacific timezone.

Pacific Northwest - Day Three

Sunday we went to church at Sanctuary CRC and met up with one of Derek's college friends and his family. They invited us over for  a great lasagna lunch and these our two toddlers played around together.

These guys caught up a bit...
Our two families: both with one toddler and a baby on the way!
It was great to see the Jacobs family again!
Then all 7 of us packed into the mini van and headed south to Cannon Beach, OR for a few days. We just fit, thanks to Stow-n-Go!
