Mitchell State Park

We loved camping at Mitchell State Park in Cadillac, MI so much a for our anniversary earlier this month that we decided to check for some openings again. We went for a quick weekend July 20-22 with the 3 of us and had beautiful weather.

 My parents were coming back from a camping trip in the Upper Peninsula and stopped by. We took a walk along the channel connecting Lake Mitchell and Lake Cadillac.

 All tuckered out on the way home. Although those naps only ever last about 30 minutes.

 We stopped by Grand Haven on our way home to grab some ice cream and supper and walk around. Derek did an amazing job parking the car and trailer in their crowded parking lot!!

Boat Ride

 We had a picnic out by Lake Macatawa to celebrate "Papa's" birthday and decided to take a boat ride out to Lake Michigan afterwards. 

 Grandma was there too, but she was the one behind the camera lens!

 She was pretty nervous about the boat ride but then she discovered a little house below deck that was just her size - complete with a little kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom to climb in!
