I'm all moved out

It took many nursing, napping, and baby-wearing hours but all of my school stuff is now crammed into our garage. It is a strange feeling to not have the usually countdown until fall. I've always spent summer knowing how many day/weeks/months were left until I had to return to school (as a student or teacher).

The Littlest Whitecaps Fan

We spent a beautiful night at the Fifth Third Ballpark.

Abigail wore her true colors since it was Tiger Friday.

She even "met" Crash the mascot.

Grandma and Grandpa VanderZwaag had the tickets and invited us along.

Newborn photo shoot

When Abigail was one week old we had her newborn photos taken with Awakened Images, the same photographers that took our maternity photos. We wanted her to be very sleepy, like jello, so we could pose her and move her around. She wanted to be awake! We fed her a lot and kept the heater on her and we ended up with some cute photos! Here's a photo for a look behind the scenes and here's the link for the photos that are posted already! The rest of the photos can be found in the gallery here.

2 Weeks Old

Abigail turned two weeks old yesterday. She lost her cord stump this week also. Here she is attending her first bridal shower. We were all dressed up so pretty we just had to get a four generation photo:

Lazy summer days, napping in the afternoon...

Just look at those eyes! They don't always stay in focus yet, but they're pretty!

Blooming Clematis

This is a non-Abigail post. Sorry to disappoint some of you! I just had to post these photos of our Clematis this year. One thing I really miss about our old house is all the beautiful landscaping and perennials that appeared each year. Our new house has nice landscaping and perennials but not all the big gorgeous flowering ones like my old house. Anyway, here is a look at the stairs of our deck and the explosion that has occurred over the last week!

Our First Days Home

Our first days home with Abigail have been great. It has been wonderful having two parents home all week! There have been some sleepless nights (before I was able to really fill her belly up at feedings) but she is a good eater, snuggler, crier, smoocher... okay, okay... we just love her to pieces! :)

We've enjoyed some lazy afternoons with lunch on our deck. It turns out that it is hard to eat corn-on-the-cob when holding Abigail. He he.

She LOVED her first bath!

Now that she has a full belly after feedings she likes sleeping in her bassinet. The little Graco sound machine on the top right is really handy. It helps all three of us sleep and has a little "night light" so I can find her when she fusses.

Pretty in Pink

Here are some photos from the hospital. It's day 5 here with Abigail and it's hard to even explain how much we love her already. We have lots of fun stuff on the camera yet, and video camera that we'll have to post soon.

Is tomorrow the day?

This is what our "ticker" says at the bottom of this webpage:
Will tomorrow be the day she makes her debut? Only about 4-5% of babies are born on their due date. She's definitely big enough (or am I talking about me?). We'll keep you posted...
