Maternity Photos!

We had maternity photos taken last week and had a blast! David and Cara were a lot of fun to work with and I've been checking their blog everyday to see if our "teasers" were posted. Check them out here! I absolutely love them, I can't wait to see the rest! I also never thought I'd bare that belly on the internet but I've come to love that little girl in there so much and she's beautiful even like that! :)

My First Baby Shower

I had my first baby shower last Saturday. It was so much fun and everyone was so generous. All of that baby stuff is just so cute I can't wait to meet our little girl! I love this picture below because my cousins' daughters were so excited for this shower. They were all dressed up and acting like little ladies. They even got some gifts from their grandma and were right in on the action. They also gave me some name suggestions... I guess Derek and I will have to start talking about her name pretty soon. I'm 34 weeks pregnant so time is flying by and we should have a name ready!

Hmmm... I wonder who gave this gift? Thanks, Aunt Elizabeth! So Cute! We missed having the other auntie there... but she'll be home soon enough to meet the baby, right Aunt Sarah? :)

Spring Break Camping

We decided to stay around West Michigan this year for spring break since I would be 8 months pregnant. We booked one of the cabins at the Holland State Park and invited some friends to share the weekend with us. We had a blast! The weather was sunny and, cold and rainy, cloudy and windy, and one evening it was even snowing a little bit. Crazy Michigan! I'm glad I brought my hat, mittens, and winter coat since the wind was pretty cold at times. My coat just barely fits over the baby belly!

The whole group on the pier:

Daniel and Derek gathering "downed, dry, and dead" wood. We had the biggest fire EVER on the last night! So fun!

What an eggstra special guy

Our Bradley Instructor said I should be eating more protein, like 2 eggs a day. So I hard-boiled a bunch to throw in my lunch or make egg salad. Before heading to bed, Derek noticed them still sitting there on the counter "cooling". He asked what to do with them so I told him just put them back in the carton but don't forget to mark them so I know which are hard-boiled! This is what I discovered in the morning when I went to grab one for my lunch:

My students love seeing what "face" will be on my eggs each day! Oh, I love that man!

Adam and Kylie's Wedding

We headed to East Lansing for a wedding and it was a gorgeous night. So we took the opportunity to pose by the golf course where the reception was.

My 30 week belly... and that's not even a maternity dress!:

West Michigan Moms Sale

Derek and I braved the cold rain and crowds and went to the Mom Sale at the DeltaPlex. We bought a lot of clothes and came home and washed and sorted it. It looks like quite a stash when you lay it all out!

We found a cute nursery set, a diaper bag, some other diapering stuff, and a bouncer seat. I look a little sheepish, because I feel like it sitting there in my pajamas with all that stuff while Derek takes my photo. Well, it's on the world wide web now!

Celebrating our "anniversary"

Derek sent me flowers at school for our ten year" anniversary" of our first date. This is the same mug that he showed up with filled with flowers 10 years ago.

We ate at Crazy Horse and Derek tried their green beer:

Elizabeth's Birthday Celebration

We celebrated Elizabeth's birthday and had a St. Patty's feast along with it. Here are some of the "props" provided by mom... we look great huh!?

Grandma and Grandpa joined us:

The birthday girl... and Chris excited over the parsnips and carrots!

Baby's First 5K "Bib"

Derek was signed up for the St. Patty's 5K Fun Run in Holland but he was still recovering from "pre"-pneumonia. He knew it would be hard to run without coughing the entire way and that thought combined with me just waiting around and "watching" him race didn't sound so nice. So we decided to do the Fun "walk" instead and I signed up 20 minutes before the race began and changed into my XL t-shirt in the dressing room. It was a cool day, perfect for a power walk!
