After such a sweet previous post about Derek, I am now going to exercise my full bragging rights... but really, folks... it's just the facts.

Ten Years Today
Ten years ago Derek and I went on our first date. I was house sitting and my best friend and I invited the two men we were interested in to dinner. We made WAY too much food. I got a bouquet of flowers. We watched a movie and I'm pretty sure Derek's arm fell asleep around my shoulders and my neck killed! Then we went to a "dance" at Ridge Point. The next ten years were packed with fun and lots of memories. Thanks for sticking with me over the decade, Honey!

Baby Girls
Here I am at 27 weeks, the end of the 2nd trimester:

Last week Friday we headed up to see the Derek's roommate from Calvin and their new little girl. We hadn't seen their son in awhile too -- no pictures of him though because we didn't get the camera out until he was in bed. Their baby girl is so adorable. She was one week old and "wow" did it make our hearts just flutter thinking we will be holding our little girl in a few short months.
One of my Calvin housemates just had a baby girl too (same day I think!) and I'm just itching to visit them and hold their little one too. She's adorable too, see for yourself! Oh, we can't wait until June!

Baby Clothes Dividers
During the Olympics it was fun to watch the events but I usually needed something for my hands to be doing while the tv was on. We're not used to watching tv every night and I just don't have that much sit in me I guess. I would grade papers sometimes and work on the laptop. I had the most fun making these though:
I had all the little bottles of paint and brushes already so I just picked up some 79 cent door hangers from the craft store. Derek is going to spray a clear coat over them but otherwise they're finished! Here's what they look like in the closet:
As you can see I've had fun shopping here and there. Some of it has come from her grandparents :) and some of it from me shopping at some second hand stores. Her closet is starting to look a little more fun:
Also, here's a photo of our bassinet that we received at Christmas. I'll wait to wash the sheets but it's all assembled and "ready". No, No, No... we're not ready to have the baby yet, we still have three months to go, but that's one thing we can check off our to do list. :)

Ridiculous Vegetable Analogies
Here's the most recent sample of the updates I get each week from Baby Center:
Week 26:
The network of nerves in your baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. She may now be able to hear both your voice and your partner's as you chat with each other. She's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of her lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when she's born and takes that first gulp of air. And she's continuing to put on baby fat. She now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (an English hothouse cucumber) from head to heel.
Isn't she cute?
I hope she doesn't look like a 1.6 pound cucumber....
