West Michigan Moms Sale

Derek and I braved the cold rain and crowds and went to the Mom Sale at the DeltaPlex. We bought a lot of clothes and came home and washed and sorted it. It looks like quite a stash when you lay it all out!

We found a cute nursery set, a diaper bag, some other diapering stuff, and a bouncer seat. I look a little sheepish, because I feel like it sitting there in my pajamas with all that stuff while Derek takes my photo. Well, it's on the world wide web now!

Celebrating our "anniversary"

Derek sent me flowers at school for our ten year" anniversary" of our first date. This is the same mug that he showed up with filled with flowers 10 years ago.

We ate at Crazy Horse and Derek tried their green beer:

Elizabeth's Birthday Celebration

We celebrated Elizabeth's birthday and had a St. Patty's feast along with it. Here are some of the "props" provided by mom... we look great huh!?

Grandma and Grandpa joined us:

The birthday girl... and Chris excited over the parsnips and carrots!

Baby's First 5K "Bib"

Derek was signed up for the St. Patty's 5K Fun Run in Holland but he was still recovering from "pre"-pneumonia. He knew it would be hard to run without coughing the entire way and that thought combined with me just waiting around and "watching" him race didn't sound so nice. So we decided to do the Fun "walk" instead and I signed up 20 minutes before the race began and changed into my XL t-shirt in the dressing room. It was a cool day, perfect for a power walk!

The facts don't "lie"

After such a sweet previous post about Derek, I am now going to exercise my full bragging rights... but really, folks... it's just the facts.

NCAA Bracket (correct picks so far):
Julie: 38/52
Derek: 29/52

Boating Safety Class (Certification Test results):
Julie: 55/60
Derek: 53/60

Our little girl is going to be sooo competitive with her daddy... :)

Ten Years Today

Ten years ago Derek and I went on our first date. I was house sitting and my best friend and I invited the two men we were interested in to dinner. We made WAY too much food. I got a bouquet of flowers. We watched a movie and I'm pretty sure Derek's arm fell asleep around my shoulders and my neck killed! Then we went to a "dance" at Ridge Point. The next ten years were packed with fun and lots of memories. Thanks for sticking with me over the decade, Honey!

A picnic on the beach

It was such a beautful weekend. Sunday afternoon we packed a picnic and went to Holland State Park. The sun was shining, it was in the 50's and there was no wind.

We walked out on snow-covered pier:
