Daycare BBQ

Our daycare had a summer celebration BBQ for all the families. We met at Lawrence Street Park and it was a great night. 

 Each child received a pail and shovel and they were set up as the centerpieces when we got there. It was really cute.

I maybe got a little carried away with my Pinterest ideas but it was fun to have a theme and run with it. Abigail kept telling people she was having an Elmo party and she does love Elmo she it was a win-win I think.

 Abbi had some larger gifts so they were wrapped  in the Oscar the Grouch "style": trash bags. Very creative idea by the guests.

Uncle Dan was able to be there and he was only in town for a day or two for interviews.  

 She did try to blow the candle out with her nose (since we always hold a tissue to her nose and say "blow") so I had to quickly blow the candles out before she got too close!

Dutch Treat

We bought a popup camper this spring and had our first chance to use it over Memorial Day weekend. 

We didn't go far, just a few miles down the road to Dutch Treat Campground. It was one of the few with openings only a week before and since it was our inaugural trip we thought it would be best to stay close to home. 

 Turns out Abigail loves camping... and bonfires with marshmallows. If you ask her she'll say she likes "marshmallows, hot dogs, and raisins"

Summer BBQ

We had a summer BBQ at our friends house. It was a sort of college reunion for the guys. Our friends came up from North Carolina with their new little boy and all the kiddos were able to meet and play with each other. 

Ahem, there may have even been a little "matchmaking" happening by the moms.

  Too cute huh. They are only a few months apart so these too kept holding hands or standing by each other for all the photos.  

The first ice cream cone of the season (I think). She dropped the ice cream out of it after a few minutes and didn't even realize it... just enjoyed the cone!

18 weeks

Tradition

This is totally becoming a tradition... Once the weather is nice, we head to the beach for lunch after our church service. We take a walk, watch the boats and people and then head back home in time for naps.  

We've had a couple people join us over the last few weeks... let us know if you're free on a Sunday. we'd love to have you join us for a picnic!
